CATT RAMSEY AND HER MUTT MYSTERIES ADVENTURES by Teresa Inge

Today, I am blogging about Mutt Mysteries and my protagonist Catt Ramsey.

The Mutt Mysteries began a few years ago when four authors Jayne Ormerod, Heather Weidner, Rosemary Shomaker, and I met to discuss writing a dog themed series with four novellas. Since this group has been in several anthologies together over the years, we knew we had what it took to write a fun series. Plus, each author had dogs and loved animals!

We began with To Fetch a Thief, book one in the series which featured “Four Fun Tails of Theft and Murder.” This was a great beginning as we promoted the book, did book signings, and introduced our readers to mutts and mysteries, a winning combination. Plus, we donated some book proceeds to animal organizations. It’s also where I introduced Catt Ramsey, Owner of the Woof-Pack Dog Walkers and her pups Cagney and Lacey who helped Catt solve crimes and right wrongs.

To Fetch a Scoundrel, book two in the series included “Four Fun Tails of Scandal and Murder.” This was fun continuing to write about Catt and her pups and watching they grow in the series. As a dog walker, I put Catt in various situations, stumbling upon crimes and murder while Cagney and Lacey sniffed out clues to unleash killers.

The third installment in the Mutt Mysteries series, To Fetch a Villain, “Four Fun Tails of Miscreants and Murder” now included author Maria Hudgins. And once again, Catt and pups Cagney and Lacey were back on the case to prove man’s best friend can be crime’s worst enemy.

And now we come to book four in the series that I am currently writing. As I think about all the situations, I’ve put Catt and pups Cagney and Lacey in, I’ve learned just how much I love writing these characters, dogs included. I hope my readers have enjoyed them as well. And in book four, they continue to solve crime and grow in more ways than you know!

SNEAK PEEK: "Sandy Paws" by Maria Hudgins

C HAPTER O NE T he beach rental house called the Osprey’s Nest was full of summer guests and should have been full of laughter and music but it wasn’t. It was dead quiet. In fact, it looked a bit like Gettysburg the day after the battle. In the big central living room people lay on the floor, sprawled across sofas, slouched in leather recliners, and slumped over laptop computers with hands hovering over keyboards. Crumpled paper dotted the floor. Glasses of iced tea and bottles of beer sat forgotten on tables. Flip-flops were scattered randomly around the room, but the people weren’t dead. They were writers. They called themselves the Sand Fiddlers Writers Group and this was the week of their annual retreat. Sophie Perone, author of the popular Mysterious Gourmet books, had volunteered to do all the cooking and on this morning, Sophie had arranged her special cheese straws in tall glass tumblers and placed them all around the room so the writers could snack on them while they we
