DEAR SANTA (Holiday Wish Lists from our mutt Current, via author person Rosemary)

Dear Santa,
My cousin Ringer the hound dog says he loves his job in your workshop with the elves. He hits a button every time the team finishes making a toy, so bells peal in the workshop every day, all day long, he says. There will be no trouble meeting the demand for toys this Christmas!
As a surprise for the elves, Ringer learned a repertoire of holiday songs and uses his paws to strike a panel of buttons—the elves like hearing the multiple tones resolve into full songs, so they work faster, and they sing along. Ringer’s straight instrumentals have proven popular, too. Bach’s Prelude from Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major is often requested, the low bell tones featuring prominently. The elves slow their pace a bit for this uplifting but mellow piece and emerge focused and energized.
I’ve got Ringer on my Christmas list. Could you give him a chance to babysit the youngest reindeer? He’d receive the assignment as if it was a gift, and he’d be the best steward of these rambunctious young hoofed quadrupeds. Ringer promises he’ll give them a lot of exercise and wear them out so they’ll get good, restorative rest and grow into strong fliers to pull your sleigh.
Santa, my human dog mom and her writer friends are also on my list. Please give Rosie, Heather, Teresa, and Jayne fun times meeting new mystery readers and success with their To Fetch a Thief and To Fetch a Scoundrel Mutt Mysteries books. The dogs in the Mutt Mysteries stories, from Darby, Cannoli, Mary, and Cagney and Lacey in the first book, to some new and two returning mutts in the second book, are credits to canines everywhere. I know you and Mrs. Claus are dog lovers. I bet Mrs. Claus would be thrilled to receive a copy of To Fetch a Thief and maybe the Mutt Mysteries authors will share an advanced copy of To Fetch a Scoundrel with her. Books make great gifts!
Finally, Santa, give my human family peace and solace, because by the time you read this, I’ll be over the Rainbow Bridge. They were the perfect family for me, and their love sustained me. When another dog enters their lives, I’ll be looking on, and I know he’ll be just what the family needs—and he’ll be one lucky dog!
Sincerely,
Current

R U READY FOR THE BIG GAME? By Jayne Ormerod

First thing I did when my 2021 calendar arrived was to draw a big red circle around February 7 th . It’s game day! The big one! No, not the Super Bowl, but the Puppy Bowl. The big match up between Team Fluff and Team Ruff. The premise is nothing more than hours of watching puppies play in an enclosed area painted to look like a football field. Pups play with stuffed footballs, and score points when the ball is carried over the goal line. Talk about cuteness overload! Here is the official roster of pups for the 2021 game: https://www.discovery.com/shows/puppy-bowl/puppy-bowl-xvii/vote . Oh, be still my mutt-loving heart! I can’t choose which team to root for! My method for choosing a Super Bowl team is easy…I go for uniform colors. But when it comes to the Puppy Bowl, I base my allegiance on cuteness. So for that reason alone, I will be rooting for Team Fluff, more specifically, Chunky Monkey, a Chow Chow/Irish Red and White Setter mix. Okay, okay, uniform color figured into my choi
